SOLD 1. SEPT 26TH 1770 ENTIRE from Southwark to Chelsea, on reverse has a fine "PENNY/POST/PAID/S/WE" (Willcocks type 354) and "O'CLOCK/7/W" (type 366). Interesting contents refer to a "LIST OF 18 SOULS ON BOARD THE JERSEY PACKET". Neatly written by a "John Wheeler" and addressed to a "James Hutton at Lindsey House". (Photo) (Ref 17778) £375.00

2. POSTAL ACT. 1825 Act introducing the Packet Service between Liverpool and Dublin. Rate being 8d single rate, plus any other additional rates if applicable. Superb fresh and uncreased condition. Unusual. (Ref 19640) £165.00

3. 1828 Entire from Leamington to London with fair strike of LEAMINGTON FLEURON on reverse and FINE BLUE FRAMED WARWICK/PENNY POST on front. Very scarce. (Ref 18903) £95.00

4. 1839 London twopenny post/general post. Entire from Chertsey to Nottingham the front with "SUNBURY 2PY.P.PAID" overstruck by London circular "PAID" dated "July 31". SOLD 13. 1837 JOHN DICKINSON ESSAY for a prepaid 1d letter sheet. Printed in yellow-buff on silk thread paper and inscribed "London District Post", the one penny value was for letters up to one ounce (see page 4 of SG. Vol 1) A few minor perimeter faults otherwise fine and fresh. (Ref 19643) £295.00
